Alternative Futures Associates (AFA) is a consultancy with a track record of over 30 years helping private sector leaders choose their better future by developing strategies that account for future risk and reward. In many sectors, companies, and cultures, we guide corporate clients through futures methods such as scanning the horizon for emerging issues, discovering new trends, collecting and creating forecasts, developing scenarios and visions.
Our team understands that alongside creative strategy, companies also need ways to align leadership and staff around a common culture and shared values. As a result, we developed a unique expertise in visioning, using audacious goals and a growing knowledge of psychological and cultural factors to bring about corporate alignment. We serve as change agents who bring a deep understanding of change to corporate cultures while helping clients engage new customers and partners.
The AFA Team
Jonathan Peck is able to pull seemingly disparate themes, trends, data and knowledge together to weave a compelling view of the future. He makes sure his clients are comfortable with the long-term future with an equally provocative and pragmatic approach to his work. In doing so, he helps corporate boards and senior executives identify options unseen in the past, understand strategic implications, and make decisions about the strategies they want to employ to successfully achieve their goals.
Clem Bezold, PhD, catalyzes organizations’ efforts to remain relevant by showing potential challenges but also opportunities to shape the future in line with his clients’ aspirations. He is known for cultivating a comprehensive mental map of alternative developments on a wide range of topics, which enables him to cross-fertilize many sources of knowledge for the benefit of the organization he serves. He has the ability to combine a visionary appreciation of long-term alternative futures with thoughtful consideration for short-term imperatives.
